2011 Small Pot Shiraz released

Our tiny production Small Pot Shiraz has just been released, and it won't be around for long.

Our Small Pot wines are winemaker selections that can be as small as one or two barrels. They can be a winemaking trial, a favourite barrel or a wine style that’s a little different and of interest. These are wines that tell an individual story of something unique at the estate.

The 2011 Small Pot is an expression of Shiraz from Block 15 on our vineyard. This is the block that traditionally goes into our flagship Shiraz, the Ironheart. But given the cooler conditions of the 2011 vintage, the style of this wine was different to that expected of the Ironheart - so we decided to make this vintage into a Small Pot, rather than making an Ironheart Shiraz from 2011. And that’s a win for you, as a wine that would normally be $100 is only $45 per bottle under the Small Pot label.

We’re extremely proud of the wines we made at Yangarra from such a challenging year - and this is no exception. The low yields allowed the fruit to ripen with the limited available sunshine, and the resulting wines are lower in alcohol but still display great intensity, brightness and length. The Block 15 Shiraz is a beautifully elegant, fragrant and finessed wine.

This wine is EXTREMELY limited in production. In fact, we only have 10 cases available! It will sell out fast, so please get your order in quickly before it’s all gone.
