VINTAGE & WINE NOTES

This is tight, lithe and elegant: a composed and dignified Merlot with only the faintest initial glimpse of anything resembling mellow. It smells comforting at first, but as the drinker delves, the bouquet unveils mossy, damp forest earth, and then fresher, leafy greens emerge with their tannins.

The 2014 growing season in McLaren Vale is remembered as a warm vintage of extremes with hail in December, a heat wave in January and some heavy rain in February. However, March followed with milder conditions to allow concentration of flavour and ripeness to reach an ideal balance during grape maturation. The 2014’s show great ripeness and richness, depth and plushness.
